A PBS five-part documentary series addressed the #MeToo topic head-on. The goal of the series was to examine the factors that have enabled sexual harassment to endure in the workplace, despite laws that should prevent it. The visual style of the documentary paralleled the examination of this topic: Clean white interview spaces, stark lighting, and intimate discussions.
Creative Collective’s Eric van den Brulle was tasked with creating the exact right tone in 60 photographs for its opening segment and for use in promos of the series. His creative approach was to capture the face of #MeToo by capturing the face of ordinary people, unadorned and without overt expression. The nakedness of these photos speaks to the honesty and raw emotion of this topic.
